Glitter and Grunge

I am excited to be rejoining a great group of artists online this month! I have been a part of glitterandgrunge.com for several months and it has been great fun! I missed last month because with 4 kids, the holidays and several family members visiting, I just couldn't make the deadline! But, it is great to be back and I hope everyone will take a look. I especially like Mohair Circus and Everyday is a Holiday. But, really, everyone on this site is doing what I love by being artsy and creative! Check it out!

Birds on a Wire

I am definitely feeling a warm, sunset vibe here. I have been playing around with images of birds on a wire. I liked the silhouette of these black birds on the warm, sunset oranges and reds. The result is a bold statement. This will definitely add a burst of color to any spot in your home! You can feel the warmth coming from this piece. On the flip side, I just finished another piece titled, Icy Branches. It will make you shiver. The icy blues and sleek foil accents are sophisticated and cool. The papers used on the delicate branch are full of varied textures and colors. I love the way this one reflects light. Parts of this piece seem to float above the canvas.
I am pleased to add both of these to mychloeflower.com. I have been making several children's art pieces and it was fun to play with some more sophisticated images. I already have more ideas in the works. I am working on a piece which uses the deepest, richest red paper I have ever seen. It seems appropriate to debut it for Valentine's Day. I hope to post it next week! Thanks for looking!

Tulips!

I definitely have spring fever and this piece is celebrating just that! I love the fresh spring greens and sky blues of the canvas! This tulip reminds me that spring is coming and soon there will be fresh color everywhere! I have been working to incorporate vellum papers into my collages, but have not been successful until now. The vellum overlaying the tulip in this piece adds just the right amount of texture and fun pattern. I also love how it makes the tulip 3-dimensional. I can almost see this flower swaying in the breeze! What a perfect addition to a cheery nursery or bright playroom! Celebrate spring with My Chloe Flower!

New Baby Bird Series

I am just crazy about this new Baby Birds Series! I have been working on this one for awhile and am thrilled to have it completed! The colors are so rich and uplifting. Sure, there's still snow on the ground at my house, but it has become spring in my studio. I can just picture these sweet baby birds above a crib in a nursery or hanging on the wall of a playroom. Do you know someone expecting a spring baby? Nothing would be sweeter to help celebrate the occasion.

I am so inspired by the idea of spring that I have started work on some adorable tulip pieces as well. I hope to finish those next week. And, if you are looking for some sophisticated pieces for the rest of your home, I am also working on two new nature-inspired pieces that will be hard to part with. I found some beautiful paper that I can't wait to start adding to my art! Look for new art in all categories coming very soon!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It feels like a perfect time to start new collage art projects! I have found some fabulous inspiration and I am working on a whole new children's art series right now. I expect this new series to debut next week. You won't want to miss them! Also, I am doing quite a bit of housekeeping. It is a great time to purchase some seasonal art at a significant discount. Pack them away and give them for gifts next year. You will already be ahead in your holiday shopping!
